Roofing installation has been our specialty for many years now. So if you’re looking for a team of full time roofing professionals to advise and lay any kind of roofing, from asphalt roofing to skylight installation or repairs or anything in between, then you can be confident that, in instructing our company, you’ll be getting the very best service.

RI Company has been part of the Townville roofing industry since 1992, and gives roofing advice and carries out rooftop restorations along the whole of the Gold Coast. Whether you just want to fix a leaking roof or have a full blown slate roofing installation that needs doing then our team of roofing experts will handle the job with the minimum of fuss or inconvenience.

Our Managing Director, John Doe, says, “When we first started supplying roofing installations there was less choice to offer our customers than there is today. Now you can choose from slate, tiles, moulded tiles, and metal roofs including steel and copper. You can even have a glass roof in any shape or size.”

Our workforce has grown to 40, which includes specialists in flat roof repairs, sheet metal roofing installation and slate roof repairs. Because of the advanced roofing designs now commonplace and the increasingly complex regulations relating to roofing renovations, few people are now tackling the job themselves but are turning to the professionals instead.

Who are the Experts of Roofing Installation

A proper roofing specialist will have the right equipment. This is often expensive and simply not worth the expense for the average DIY enthusiast. It includes scaffolding, a selection of ladders, and crawling boards for when you’re actually on top of the roof.

The simplest kind of roof to install is a flat roof, suitable for small extensions and garages. Timber rafters, resting on the upright walls, support boarding, usually chipboard, which, to be made waterproof, has to be covered with bituminous felt layers bonded together. Ideally it should be angled slightly to let rainwater drain off, but in practice it’s more likely to be flat, causing pools of water to form and remain for long periods, encouraging damp and decay, hence the need for frequent replacement.

A lean-to roof is also very simple. Used for conservatories, porches and garages built against the side of a house, the outside covering can be of corrugated iron, tiles or even panes of glass.

Kinds of Roofing Installation

The most common type of roof, however, is a pitched roof. A central ridge of solid timber supports the upper end of each rafter, with the lower end of each supported by the wall plates on the outer walls. Unless it’s a small roof, further support is provided by purlins running from the middle of the rafters to the top of internal load-bearing walls. The ceiling joists act as cross ties preventing the weight of the roof from forcing the outer walls outwards and buckling them.

So when it comes to even the simplest kind of roofing installation it’s easy to see why it’s best to leave matters of maintenance and repair to the experts. Just call us today on 555-5555 for a free, no-obligation quotation for the work you need done.
